This and That
This section contains contains a little bit of everything. Mainly it consists of reviews and observations about live shows, TV shows, albums, etc. written by fans. While the Pressbook contains items that appeared in magazines and other “professional” sites, this content is created by folks who are reviewing because they’re interested in the material and not just because they’re paid to do it.
||What’s Here||
Show Reviews
Thoughts and reviews of Robert’s solo live appearances throughout his career. Reviews posted on the message board (click the PLAZA tab above to visit) will eventually be archived here.
Album Reviews
Reviews of Robert’s commercial releases
Bootleg Reviews
These are reviews of various boots (audio and video) that are available. We won’t be necessarily commenting on the quality of the boot itself (as sometimes more than one version is available) but more on the actual performance. We’re not audiophiles and won’t be commenting on the technical aspects buried within the recording. It’s all about the Robert. We do not sell bootlegs nor are we traders. We’re just reviewing what we’ve heard.
||How to Navigate||
Each item is filed under a category. The list of categories is on the right. Click one to see all the items in that category. Clicking on the title in the box at the top of the page will bring you back to this page. The tabs at the top of the page will take you to other parts of the main site.
This section is also fully searchable. Use the search box to find something specific.
||Guidelines for Contributing Reviews||
Use a spellchecker and standard English. Stories written using chatspeak shorthand will be returned for editing (for example: using “U” instead of “you”, or lacking in punctuation).
Try to say something about the actual show and music itself in your review. A review should help the reader visualize what the show looked and sounded like. Just saying “it was a magical night and Robert’s hair was so fluffy” doesn’t create ambience.
Just as with submitting articles for publication in magazines and newspapers, reviews will be edited for spelling, grammar and clarity.
You must provide your real name and a valid email when submitting reviews. You may use an alias for publication, but the editors need to be able to contact you and clarify points if necessary.
Short reviews (500 words or less) may be pasted directly into the submission form. Longer pieces may be sent pasted into an email or as an attachment, preferrably plain text. MS Word and AppleWorks files may also be accepted. Fill out the submission form if you have a longer review and you’ll receive an email address to use to send it.
Not all reviews submitted will be used. Keeping the guidelines above and the overal tenets of the website in mind while writing will make your reviews more likely to be included.
